We had a great trip to Lake Cochituate with the Zumix group yesterday! There were 12 kids on the trip from ages 8 - 18, 5 volunteers from ICO and 2 volunteers from Zumix. We weren't sure how the day would turnout when we left Boston but the weather did not put any of us off, especially the kids. All who had signed up for the trip and more showed up and they were all anxious to get outdoors and canoe and swim. It rained off and on all day but there was no threatening weather. Charles River Canoe and Kayak provided all the children with water jackets which kept them warm in the canoes. We had a great time canoeing for 1 1/2 hours, swimming in two different spots on the lake and a lovely lunch on the bus. Of course there were many trips to change in and out of wet and dry clothes. The weather seemed to make it a bit more of an adventure for the kids and it certainly kept the crowds down at Lake Cochituate.
